The Debt Marketplace Protocol on Celo
Mother Protocol
Mother is the first fully user owned financial platform on Celo. Mother is going to allow any token on Celo to be borrow and lent.
Mother is a debt protocol built on top of Celo and soon Optics. The goal of building this debt protocol is to incentivize users to use and hold assets on Celo. As well as incentivize new creators to build on Celo.
Mother is a fork of Aave, and uses existing contracts built on Ethereum.
Protocol Fees
The Aave contracts collect fees, We will be buying and burning the $Mother token with these fees as well as donating them to social impact projects. (TBD which projects)
- 0.5% loan origination fee on all loans
Celo
Mother believes that Celo has the potential to be the best cross chain solution due to Optics. We think that the Mother Protocol will not only give users the rewards needed to bring liquidity to Celo, we also think that there is a large amount of people who are not currently building on Celo due to the lack of network effects happening on Celo that exist on Ethereum and other blockchains for the builders themselves.
Examples:
- Curve picking up your strategy and giving you tokens.
- Raydium Dual mining for liquidity
- Ect.
These money legos become essential as to why a developer can create large amounts of liquidity. We think that the Celo stablecoin is the most incentivized stablecoin to build on top of, but is still missing these fundamental pieces that incentivize the builders themselves.
Mother wants to put the Celo ecosystem in a place where we can have successful token launches.
The Goals of launching $Mother
Give people a reason to build on Celo, and the network effect that other blockchains have. With the large token reserve and community owned approach the Celo community can use this liquidity to launch new tokens and projects together.
Mother is an accelerator of new assets on the Celo platform.
